I really enjoyed looking at this object from many different angles, and exploring ways to disguise it through photography. Here it is.
Véjà du is about making the familiar seem strange. Can you tell what this is? Additional Note: When taking this series of photos, I was reminded of the "the curse of knowledge." Dan Heath and Chip Heath use this idea in their book Made to Stick, which we read a portion of during the summer cohort. I found that it was difficult for me to know whether I was successfully disguising this object. I knew what it was, and it seemed obvious to me. When I started thinking about this in the context of creativity, it made me wonder about the ways in which the curse of knowledge can affect our ability to think creatively, and whether working to get outside this curse can help us increase our creativity. Regardless of whether this is true, taking this series of photos helped me begin to think about how often I may only look at the familiar, but how interesting the familiar can be when made to look strange.
